Looking for the perfect date? Do the usual ‘Dine in and dine out’ custom bug you now? Here’s a lowdown on places you can frequently visit with your love; let’s do it a tad bit differently this time. Isn’t it?

Hauz Khas Fort– If you’re looking for a place in Delhi where you can not only get a few hours of peace, quiet and serenity with your beloved but also be away from prying eyes and people trying to hassle you with their commercialism, then the Hauz Khas Fort and its surroundings are the place for you. Hauz Khas Fort is a popular haunt for lovers in Delhi. But the fort is set in a beautiful locale and has many unexplored nooks that you can inhabit. You can also explore the lake that this fort overlooks in addition to the little known district park. The District Park is one of the largest forested areas in New Delhi and you can spot a peacock or two and many beautiful birds here. Its a beautiful place to explore together and leaves you in solitude enough to have a good time.

Majnu Ka Tilla– Just a little while away from the Vidhan Sabha metro station, the Tibetan Refugee colony Majnu Ka Tilla is an unconventionally romantic place. It is another rather unexplored locale in Delhi where you will find the required peace, quiet and serenity, away from the filled with numerous cafes and nonchalant residents, the cafes serving up delicious food at budget friendly prices, and a great market of clothes and jewellery inside, this is a place worth a try. It also has a beautiful monastery. One of the typical hole in the wall place for adventurous lovers.

Lodi Garden Restaurant-Set up perfectly within the boundaries of Lodi Garden, this one of a kind restaurant is the perfect spot for lovers this Valentine’s day. Amidst all the greenery and serenity around, you walk into this place and just for a split second, you are lost-lost in the sheer beauty that surrounds you. The restaurant embraces its surroundings and has got a unique vibe of fresh air, some lovely lights, great ambience and a glimpse of life with no worries. Trust me, you will experience it. You can choose a table outside in the open area(highly recommended) or inside the restaurant. Although the interiors of the restaurant itself are top notch, it is the outside seating arrangements which provide that little touch of magic. For that special person, on that special day, you can choose the little tents outside. I assure you, you will feel like you have made it!

The food doesn’t disappoint at all. There are options for vegetarians as well as meat freaks. They serve Continental, Mediterranean and a range of Middle Eastern delicacies along with a few Indian dishes.

Need a happy ending? Go for the Banofee Pie among other exotic desserts. Nothing could possibly go wrong after that! Well, to sum it up, Valentine’s Day or not, this pearl of a place is one to visit any day. It brings a whole new meaning to this occasion and is a very popular joint. Go for it!

World Book Fair- Let this be a belated Valentine’s Day outing. The World Book Fair is being organized at Pragati Maidan from the 15th to the 23rd of February, 2014.  If you or your beloved are book-lovers, there is no way you can miss the book fair! It is a novel way of spending a lovely, romantic evening, filled with interesting conversation. And in case your partner is not into books, what better way to get them hooked than take them to a place with tens of thousands of books… If they still don’t like books, well, you can’t say you didn’t try!

Which one is your pick?
